I have been working at Barclays Capital full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Young optimistic environment - this is the only Barclays Capital location that is growing
    Fun
    Friendly
    Relaxed
Ping Pong Table, Fussball Table - after you've been working for 5-6 hours a game or two really helps get you going again. It makes you more alert, and promotes a friendly workplace environment.
Full of long time IB veterans that are completely open to mentor the young
    Lots of growth opportunity

    Cons

Hours are a bit long but that is to be expected working for an Ibank
When your parent is in the UK it creates all sorts of issues surrounding communication etc..
Parking is a complete mess. Though there is a parking garage and Ibanking employees always get a spot (since they are in so early).
Cafeteria food isnt the best and there are almost no food options within walking distance, awesome food trucks every other day, though

    Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Barclays Capital.

    Interview Details

The hiring process took a long time. Interviews were not bad at all. I was able to bypass most of the process through keeping in constant contact with my hiring manager who then basically considered this correspondence as an interview, life is an interview after all =). Make sure to stay current on financial news, know the company's strengths/weaknesses, be able to sell yourself, research and learn as much about your position as possible.

    Negotiation Details
One could probably negotiate as competitors in the area pay slightly more. However, take into consideration that you will likely get 10+ hours of overtime every week which adds an extra 10-20k to the base salary.
