I have been working at Baxter Regional Medical Center full-time (more than an year)

This was a good opportunity for me to learn how hospital billing and patient financials work. I never worked in a hospital setting before. I liked learning that hospitals have a bunch of programs to help patients who struggle with paying their bills and don't just send them onto collections. That meant a lot to me to find out since the majority of this town are elderly.

Some of the issues that I did have was not really with the company I worked with but the patients. When I say this I don't mean that I had issues with the patients themselves. I was assigned a certain amount of the alphabet as my patients that I was to work with. The problem with being in a small town, is that most of the patients get used to a certain person and don't necessarily want to work with someone they don't know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish that the management would understand that just because someone is given certain letters of the alphabet doesn't mean that the patients shouldn't have the choice on who they want to work with. I believe that when someone is comfortable working with someone then they shouldn't get written up for working with that patient. After all, we do want our patients to feel comfortable don't we?
