I have been working at Beacon Health Strategies

Good people to work with, positive management, highly structured work day, professional environment, flexibility with work attire, and yes, potlucks. I am very happy working for Beacon.

Problems arise with the changes in ever-growing managed healthcare, but you will succeed if you stay flexible. Fast-paced environment reduces time to train employees. When I asked IT to fix a problem 3 times, it still occurred, so I ended up fixing it myself. HR has a bad rep, and I'm noticing why. Weight gain from potlucks!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put pressure on HR to not only accommodate what employees need to do their job, but to follow occupational safety and labor laws. Clarify employee roles better. Specify processes, timelines, and expectations before grading employees on their work. Understand the differences in employee's education and offer training in areas where staff need to be proficient. Time during the day to exercise and work off the potlucks.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Beacon Health Strategies in November 2014.

    Interview Details

Submitted an online application and received a call 30 days later. The position was full but was offered to interview for another location. Interviewed within the week by a panel of 3. They were polite and honest about the work being stressful and not having face to face contact with clients. Performed a knowledge test, I would advise applicants review types of medications and abbreviations for dosages. I also had a short typing test.

    Negotiation Details
I was offered the position within 3 days and negotiated the salary (the first time I've ever done this). The recruiting manager worked with me and I accepted their final offer.
