I spent 16 months as an editorial assistant after being promoted from a marketing intern.

I worked at Bedford, Freeman & Worth part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Able to work remotely. Very small editorial team and a lot of varying work and experience. Most bosses are remote so this position van be done anywhere.

    Cons

All work was remote Very little specific deadlines Management did a very poor job of explaining or training, more of learning on the fly Very limited scope

    Advice to Management

I think that it would go a long way to consolidate the management in a singular office I see ad if spreading out the editorial team over 5 or 6 different states.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bedford, Freeman & Worth (New York, NY) in May 2014.

    Interview

I found the listing through my university's job search and sent in my resume and coverletter and was called in for an interview a week or two later. My interviewer was 30 minutes late to the interview and didn't really ask me very many questions; he only talked about the position and the company. I guess my interaction was indication enough? I was then asked to submit writing samples, which I did, and was confirmed for the position a week after my interview.

    Interview Questions

    • Very straightforward and easy - didn't actually ask that many questions of me except to ask about scheduling.   Answer Question
