Former Employee - Operations Manager in Toronto, ON (Canada)

I worked at Bell Technical Solutions full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay, great people, complete job autonomy, company vehicle to take home (for a very nominal fee of $100/pay). The more motivated you are to meet the core objectives, the more money you can make.

    Cons

Working out in the cold, can appear that the inmates (technicians) run the show. If you find a professional balance of management skill, you will be even more successful as they will want to work for you (Unionized so that should explain it!)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simply, adapt a more fair approach to corrective action towards management.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Bell Technical Solutions in January 2010.

    Interview Details

Went through three interviews, first one was with HR asking the usual "tell me about a time when" questions. Second interview is with the Regional Manager (your potential boss) and the third was with the Director of the company. The second interview is more skills related, knowing telecom, experience and your history of Managerial ability. If you get to the third, the job is yours as it is a "meet and greet" interview.

    Interview Questions
    • Nothing difficult or unexpected unless you don't have a technical/managerial background. No sense applying if you don't as they will see right through you!   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
You can negotiate everything. There are parameters they can work within as all Managers are within a 5-10% pay range
