I worked at Birdsall Services Group full-time (more than 3 years)Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDoesn't RecommendNegative Outlook
I had some really amazing coworkers who genuinely cared about how I progressed at the company, and you were allowed to take on as much work as you wanted, so it wasn't hard to prove to people that I was a skilled and dedicated employee.
Upper management did not really care about moving hard-working employees on a track up through the company and spent most of their time nickel-and-diming their staff. I was one of only a few people to get raises in the 4 years I was there, and it was only because I really hassled my boss about it and forced people to recognize my work ethic. If you're not comfortable constantly tooting your own horn, then this isn't the place for you.
Advice to Management
Recognize employee contributions. And give raises! You would have kept people much happier if you'd just tossed a standard 3% raise their way once in a while.
