Birst – Why Work For Us?

Birst brings the benefits of fact-based decision making to a much broader audience than ever before. Founded in 2005 by Business Intelligence experts, we witnessed firsthand the power of enterprise-wide BI platforms, but were dismayed to see how the fragmented offerings, complexity, and high costs inhibited widespread adoption.

The advent of the Cloud opened up new possibilities for BI to drive better business execution. We recognized we could build a robust, multi-tenant BI platform that would unify the traditionally siloed BI technologies, automate critical data management tasks, and greatly reduce complexity—speeding deployments and reducing overall costs.

Our secret lies in our patented Cloud two-tier data architecture that sits on top all of your data. Birst creates a user data tier that plugs into existing data warehouses, data lakes or applications, automating the process of refining the data and creating a single view for all your business users. We add a complete BI layer that uniquely meets each individual business user’s analytics needs by providing an intuitive set of front-end tools that include reports, dashboards, mobile, and visual discovery.

At Birst we’re giving business meaning to data – by enabling business users to analyze all of their data, from all types of sources, to solve real problems. Fast. Our patented 2-tier data architecture and comprehensive BI platform sits on top of all of your data, to unify, refine and embed data into every individual decision.

Headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in Europe, Middle East and Asia, Birst is among the fastest growing business-to-business software providers. Selling to businesses as well as other software vendors who seek to embed analytics into their applications, we help thousands of the most demanding businesses to make metric-driven business execution a reality.

Named to San Francisco Business Times' 2014 Top 5 Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area, Birst is expanding rapidly and is searching for driven and talented individuals to fill our ranks. If you have a passion for success, enjoy working with like-minded individuals and want to stay at the forefront of Business Intelligence and analytic technologies, we want to talk with you.

I have been working at Birst

    Pros

Excellent leadership, industry leading product, small company "family-like" culture, customers love us and the competition fears us. Everyone helps each other out and has each other's back. Sales comp plans are the strongest in the industry and we are attracting the top 1% of talent from our competition. Leadership is transparent and honest, and the type of people you can bet your career on. Joining Birst was the best career decision I ever made.

    Cons

Haven't found any "cons" about working here yet. It is a lot of work, but the work is meaningful and you can see it makes a real impact.

    Performance Engineer Interview

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Birst in December 2014.

    Interview Details

Interview process was simple with recruiter contacting me and then setting up phone followed by onsite. The phone went fine and then i went for onsite. It did not seems like really understand the requirement of the job that well and asked me questions which has no relevance to the job profile. Anyways i answered most of them. Then i was asked to wait for the last interviewer ( how rude !!!) as he did not show up or was late to office even at 12.00 p.m . The interviewers shows up and tell me that he is happy to meet me but will not have time to talk to me. Which company would not have time to talk to people whom they intend to hire or interview ? I was totally put off and decided not to waste any more of my time.

    Interview Questions
    • None. They pretty much knew very little of the job profile so kept asking all random stuff.   Answer Question
