It's a good place to get your feet wet and learn auditing hands on. The people are warm and the environment is not intimidating. Overall, the set of clients they have are really good people to work with...And it's a good place to work if you want to have a life outside of work. Overtime is 10% in busy season and at other times it is minimal. Overtime pay is paid as well.
Unfortunately, the compensation doesn't always match the amount of work. Some managers practice the "push down" of work quite often while others actually get their hands wet and help out when the work gets overloaded. This makes for an unfortunate imbalance of who you'd like to work under...and you don't really get a choice.
Advice to Management
Leadership needs to take up more for the staff...constant push down and poor compensation make staff feel unappreciated. I can say that the leaders need to learn who the "best" managers to work for are and then find out why...these managers give good feedback, practice good leadership, are very hands on, and don't mind jumping in to audit when the job requires it.
