    Pros

    Aviation is an exciting business to be in! Large company provides a lot of opportunity for development and movement. Great place to learn about aircraft manufacturing and service.

    Cons

    Bombardier is Canadian owned but its largest operations are outside Canada. Majority of decisions are made with the perspective of what is best for Canada operations without consultation or consideration of units outside of Canada. Also, units outside Canada operate painfully lean while units in Canada have too many layers, people, positions. There are typically more managers and directors in Canada than in the U.S. This affects retention of talented people that can't get promoted to reach their career goals.

    Advice to Management

    Listen and appreciate all your senior leaders when making decisions. Stop making decisions based solely on what is good god Canada. You are a global company, act like one.

    Be prepared to wait and wait. Interview is the same questions that they have used for the past 15 years. If you are hiring on direct be prepared to negotiate. Typical phone with HR and then with the manager and then a round table with managers, HR rep and leads. Nothing changes in the questions.
