I worked at Burtch Works as an intern (less than an year)Pros
Burtch Works provided an excellent internship environment with many opportunities for professional development! After a well organized and successful hands-on training, I was assigned several projects that provided exposure to all areas of the business and challenged my personal and professional growth. I was trusted to work independently but was welcome to ask questions and continue learning at any given time. The open and collaborative environment of Burtch Works is evident in the physical atmosphere of the office and in the openness every team member has for answering questions, sharing information, and aiding in the general knowledge base of the office. Constructive criticism and helpful feedback was given regularly, along with acknowledgement of hard work and a job well done. All team members were incredibly dedicated to individual professional growth, as well as the overall growth of the company. At the same time, however, no one takes themselves too seriously and are personable and fun!
Burtch Works is in an excellent location just north of Chicago in Evanston with easy access to the CTA and Metra. Compensation was competitive for a summer internship.Cons

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days – interviewed at Burtch Works.Interview Details
One of their associates sent me an email and asked if I am in the job market. After exchanging a few emails, she scheduled an interview with me and one of their executive recruiter.
The recruiter called me on time and it was all positive in the beginning. During the interview, she asked so many questions about my previous job and why I left that position. I almost felt like I am in the courtroom answering the questions of an attorney or a judge.
Once the question and answer session completed, she asked if I am open for relocation. I said yes and she mentioned about a position with a company in another state. Unfortunately, this was the only company I would never work for since I had serious issues with them as a customer in the past. I told her that I don't prefer to work for this company. Upon this response, she ended the phone interview promptly. Since then, I have never received any type of communication from them.
I was very surprised with this behavior, as I wasn't expecting this kind of treatment from a company who acts like professional.Interview Questions
