Current Employee - R&D Engineer I in Largo, FL

I have been working at CONMED Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

The people are great, there are many senior engineers that provide excellent advice and mentorship for newer engineers.
401k matching is great, 100% up to 7%.
    Full healthcare, reasonable cost
Flexible working hours, overtime rarely expected or required
Lots of vacation days, even for a brand new hire

Salary is much lower than it should be
Career growth is slow, raises are small or nonexistent, and promotions even more so
    Job can be boring

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work! Through 4+ different managers, almost all of them have been great people. They are reasonable with work load expectations, flexible with time, and always willing to help us or "bail us out" of troubles if necessary.

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at CONMED Corporation in March 2010.

    Interview Details

3 interviews, great managers, very great experience...had 3 with the hiring manager, and then the sales executive/national sales director. it was very professional. the key was to be positive and win on the questions regarding situational questions-star. that usually is the most important. It was a great experience, and I was extremely happy to get a position with the company. The manager was great, one of the best I have ever worked for.
