CWCapital Realty Trust was a specialty real estate finance company formed in 2008. The company filed go go public that year, but economic conditions scuttled the deal. It had planned to use proceeds from its IPO to acquire investment-grade commercial mortgage-backed securities, including commercial mortgage-backed securities, whole loans, mezzanine loans, and B-Notes, but it never made any investments. CWCapital Realty Trust was formed by parent company CWCapital, which was bought by Fortress Investment Group in 2010.
