I have been working at Cal Net Technology Group full-time (More than 5 years)RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEORecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
There has been a lot of changes since I've started years ago but the changes are a good thing. Company has grown over 100 employees since I have started and company is investing time and money to lay the ground work to grow exponentially. If you're a decent field engineer with good communication skills who wants to work and learn, you will make a lot of money. Cal Net has a lot of incentives for engineers to make money from optional over time, bonuses, contests and they even reimburse your certification exams that you pass. There is so much opportunity for those who want tot work and are willing to play in a team environment. If you don't want to work as hard, that is okay, you just won't make as much as those who are really motivated.
If you work as a in house tech, for a government agency, or if you don't have time management skills or team work skills, don't apply. A lot of work right now and more in the pipeline, so if you want to just coast, not a good idea to apply here. For new engineers their can also be up to 1-2 hours of drive time a day if your clients are scattered or if you get stuck in traffic. This can be minimized as you move through the ranks.
Advice to Management
During transition be as informative as possible during growth. Employees are always afraid of change and if you can be as open and honest as possible.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted Offer
I really liked the recruiter for Cal Net as well as the HR Manager. Both will put you at ease when interviewing and this requires outstanding people skills. How many times have you interviewed with the company and felt like you were a criminal with the HR department. I promise you the experience with Cathy and Ron will be the exact opposite. It's much like when you are flying on an airlines, Cal Net HR will treat you like a first class passenger while many other employers will treat you like you are on coach. Anyone who is a Seinfeld, Carol Burnett, or In Living Color fan remembers the episodes about flying first class compared to coach and will enjoy the humor here.
- They couldn't stump me, but then again they asked questions directly related to how well I would perform my job, not idiotic questions unrelated to how well I could do my job. They will also run a background check, but don't fear if you have less than perfect credit history, they are really looking at your criminal background here. Answer Question
I nearly chose another offer that was slightly higher from another employer but the founder and HR, along with the solid stability and growth of this company won me over.
