    Research Analyst Interview

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Campbell Alliance in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I had an initial phone interview with a recruiter who very much liked my background and wanted to pass my information along to the hiring manager. A phone interview with the hiring manager was set for a few days later. She seemed brusque over the phone and told me that the position was not for anyone looking for a normal work week, that 16 hour days could be expected to be the norm and that my skills were available for the consultants whenever they might need something from me. I was told to expect a turnaround time for requests of 1 to 2 hours, and I would be doing only internal research and having no contact with clients. It was hard to tell if the time frames I was given were an exaggeration or if in fact the workload would be much more manageable.

    Interview Questions
    • I was asked whether I preferred seeking data out or analyzing it, and assuming that since "analyst" is in the job title, data analysis was the correct answer (and also happened to be what I preferred). I was then told that the position requires little to no analysis at all and is just seeking out data for anyone who might ask for it. Felt like a trick question.   Answer Question
