    I have been working at Canadian Mental Health Association full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    CMHA Middlesex works diligently to provide hope and dignity for folks coping with mental illness. The leadership is dedicated to its workers and to the persons served. Compensation is improving financially, and mental compensation has always been top notch. Coworkers and teams are cohesive and welcoming. Excellent benefits and pension plan. You can tell the quality of a company by the number of long-term employees and in this respect, CMHA Middlesex ranks quite high.

    Cons

    In order to provide as much support to the community as possible, multiple departments operate outside of the Monday to Friday, 9-5, which means some folks work shifts. A necessary factor, in my opinion. Plus, the shifts aren't that bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Great work. The leadership team is working incredibly hard with limited resources and they continue to put the needs of the community before their own. While every company has little quirks and bits they would change, the leadership team is good with feedback and explaining rationale for changes.

    Interview Details

    There was no phone screen. I had an interview with three people. They asked (1)what discimination meant to me and how it fit into their model, (2) what steps I would take to put together a seminar etc.
