I have been working at Carillion as a contractor (more than a year)Pros
It offers employees equal opportunities, it's growing fast which means there is room for professional development and one can have a successful career should they be ambitious enough. The company also has two programmes for its employees: the Futures Network and The Leadership Academy, which give its employees the opportunity to become future leaders, to develop or increase their business skills and to have a more accelerated career with the company.Cons
Although the copmany has great processes and structures in place, because it's growing fast it can be seen as slightly disorganised. Communication and engagement can be improved, but then the company has programmes for that, it's just a matter of the right people buying in and adopting them on their contracts.Advice to ManagementAdvice
More organised/ better thought/ practical processes and involve the right people to implement them.
It wouldn't hurt listening more instead of having the "we know it all" attitude.
Innovation is not a company focus, and with the company wanting to stay competitive, this is something that should be thoroughly considered.
More visible leadership. It's extremly rare that we see MD's, CEO/ CFO/ COO ever visiting the contracts.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO

Applied online and I also sent a detailed, well prepared resume with cover letter to HR and also followed up with a phone call to only hear that they never received either. After reading the reviews on GD, I'm glad the interview never occurred.Interview Questions
