Not a bad place to be, but nothing special.

I worked at Cayuga Home for Children full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Does a lot of entry-level hiring in area; organization is experiencing steady growth; non-union PTO plan is fairly generous. Agency does promote from within rather regularly.

    Cons

Cost and level of coverage of health care plan fluctuates annually; very high turnover; not much emphasis put on employee morale or recognition. Compensation is only average and for most employees, there isn't any incentive to stay here for a long time.

This occurred at the Bronx location. I arrived only to be informed that the person who was supposed to interview me was not at work, and that another employee would be meeting with me. There was another person waiting ahead of me, it took about 45 minutes before someone called in the other candidate, then another 25 minutes before I was called. The interview itself was basic, "Tell me about a time when...". The most uncomfortable part was sitting in the waiting room, listening to some of the employees cursing like sailors having fun at some bar. After all that, I never received any notification either way. Even a 1 sentence, basic rejection email would have been appreciated.
