I have been working at Center Parcs as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Managers were friendly and approachable, and there was a positive work atmosphere. Remuneration was good (based on short-term contract work) and so was the work/life balance.

    Cons

At times management seemed to be inefficient with communication difficulties between middle- and upprer-management. This lead to unclear work assignments and obstacles in getting work done to a high standard.

    Housekeeping Interview

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Center Parcs in June 2013.

    Interview Details

Online application, included personality and skills self-assessment which generates a 'suitability for centre parcs' score. Followed by an in-person interview.

I was very frustrated by the process. At the interview I was offered a job and arranged a date to come in for training. Three days later I received a phone call from HR probing about my availability as a student. Having declared my availability and intentions from the first step and having a discussion about it at interview before receiving an offer of employment I was surprised to be contacted about it at this stage. I was told to wait for a phone call to confirm whether they were retracting the offer of employment. I never heard from them and finally got an answer by contacting somebody in the office directly after looking them up on linked in!

Center Parcs sees the forest "and" the trees, and plenty of them. The company operates four forested holiday villages, which attract vacationers by offering such amenities as villas, swimming holes, lakes, restaurants, shops, and spas. The leisure company's properties are in the UK, in Cumbria, Nottinghamshire, Suffolk, and Wiltshire. Each village sits on about 400 acres. All told, Center Parcs' holiday villages boast nearly 3,400 units in four categories ranging from standard villas to exclusive four-bedroom villas. The company, founded in 1968, is a subsidiary of private... More
