I worked at Center for Automotive Research as an intern (More than a year)
CAR is a great place to launch a career. Being an intern here doesn't mean getting coffee and answering phones, it means being a genuinely important part of whichever project you are working on. I have learned a great deal and have been able to secure several job offers on the heels of me leaving (regretfully) the company.
Because people know their jobs so well, communication breakdown can happen when new people come in. It is an issue of knowing something so well, people don't realize that others don't have that same knowledge.
Advice to Management
Keep the interns involved! That was such an important part in my experience at CAR.
