Century is a conservative organization with limited opportunty for growth, but is a very comfortable place to work.

I have been working at Century Housing full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are very generous, exceeding most comparable employers
Management generally provides a wide degree of autonomy
There is not an attitude of austerity or parsimony as at other organizations, especially nonprofits

    Cons

The company greatly underutilizes its assets (people, capital) in how much social impact it delivers
The Board and most senior managers are not dynamic, concerned with maintaining status quo rather than seeking financial and social returns on investments
Few demands are made of employees, little is expected, and nothing is communicated well
Comfort of working environment (generous pay, benefits, etc) lead to stagnation from lack of turnover

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create opportunities for employees to move out and move up

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
