Not a good place for entry-level engineers.

I have been working at Chiang Patel and Yerby

    Pros

Great benefits. All premiums for benefits (Employee + Spouse) are cheap ($200/Month). Plenty of time off (3 weeks of vacation, 1 week of sick leave per year). Not a very stressful place to work.

    Cons

No CAD support. EIT's do all drafting. Very inefficient in terms of project management (all projects seems to go over budget). Too much middle management for the small company. Relies too heavily on "minority-owned" status for projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A complete restructuring is needed. 50% of mid-management can be let go. Fat needs to be trimmed to become profitable. Add CAD support and more lower-level employees to actually do the project instead of relying on expensive engineers to do all of the CAD.
