Reasonably good pay, pretty nice facilities, opportunities to advance to full-time employment. Opportunities to make a difference in young people's lives. All of my co-workers are helpful and pleasant to work with.
Low quality/motivation of students (most have been kicked out of other schools - this is a Federal Job Corps Center) Excessive turnover (average tenure about 2 years); many staff members are gone within 3 months.
Advice to Management
Make a least a nominal effort to retain employees - especially good ones. Don't fire people just because they point out where improvement can be made.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 10+ months. I interviewed at Chugach Alaska (Las Vegas, NV) in February 2015.
Coordinated for a few months with a manager (I had a connection within the company that got the ball rolling; however, they were interested in the fact that I was a fairly recent college grad with extensive knowledge of the government contracting industry as well as several connections across various companies). Met with the manager for lunch as well as several informal phone interviews and numerous emails. In the end, met with the director 1:1 in the office for a formal interview in a conference room. I waited around a month to find out the result (right before my birthday- boo!)... only to be disappointed that I wasn't chosen... for being inexperienced. I hope one day our paths may cross again but if you are "inexperienced" as well- look elsewhere!
