    Pros

I really enjoyed working with my co-workers, it was a positive environment with a lot of support. Manager's were interested in the growth and development of interns. I was able to challenge current methods/procedures and write reports to propose alternative solutions.

    Cons

Sometimes my co-workers and I (both interns, part-times, and full-times) felt as though we were putting in more work than our managers. There were many occasions where a resident would come into the building to speak to a manger (regarding a problem that I could not solve/it was not related to my job) but our manager would refuse to help (I would have to make up an excuse stating my manager was in a meeting). It would put me in a uncomfortable situation with a resident angrily storming off.

    Advice to Management

I wish the employees weren't treated as a "meat-sheild" to angry residences. Managers should not have to hide behind them.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at City of Markham (Markham, ON (Canada)).

    Interview

A brief orientation that describes the job and requirements. The orientation is done in groups. After you fill in some forms that asks for some basic information about you, follow by some situational questions. The interview itself isn't really long, it's one on one but they simply look at the answers you already gave to the earlier questions.
