I have been working at City of Vancouver, Canada full-time (More than 3 years)

Flexible schedules, great employees, lots of oppourtunities for advancement, a great work environment. I am always happy to come to work every day knowing that what I do makes a difference.

It can be very hard to get into. I feel that the hiring process is too tough. I think a lot of great people are passed over because of the critical interview process.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! I'm sure that there is room for improvement, as there always is, and I am confident that management always has our best in mind when looking for ways to improve.

    Difficult Interview

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at City of Vancouver, Canada.

Wet screening held at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre with a large group of candidates. Everyone had to do full NLS standards (distance swim with all strokes, retreive brick from dive-tank, pia carry etc.) as well as teaching and rescue simulations. Each round needed to be passed to proceed to the next. The whole process took 3-4 hours. Less than 20% of people passed the screening and were hired.

    Interview Questions

    • Come up with a simple, 5 minute lesson activity for a certain swim level and teach it to the other hires   1 Answer
