I have been working at CityGrid Media full-time for more than 3 years

CityGrid had a rough time in 2012 and 2013. New products didn't launch or time or have as big of impact as expected. Trying to win both SMBs and Consumers was not working and we were trying to do it all. Since the company was restructured in June 2013 we are a small, motivated bunch. Teams work well with one another, it's easy to figure who is responsible for what, decisions are made quickly, there is a focus on data-driven decision making and A/B testing and my favorite - individuals are empowered to make a difference. Whether suggesting a new technology to use and why, suggesting product changes or changes to processes. People listing and I feel both heard and valued.

There are fewer senior team members in specific roles that I can learn from. From a technical perspective, some things are done quickly but others can take a whole because the system has so many components.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the plunge and try out new and riskier products that have real benefit to someone - rather than just focusing on the bottom line.

This online enterprise tracks down things to do all around town. CityGrid Media operates Citysearch, an online provider of local entertainment and business listings, operating city-specific websites covering major metropolitan areas. In 2010 the company changed its name from Citysearch to CityGrid Media; however, the name of its flagship Citysearch site remains unchanged.
