    We've just updated our Parental Leave policy to make the lives of our employees a little bit better.

    Updates to ClearSlide's Parental Leave

    In an effort to ensure we are a company that's fully family-friendly, we are significantly extending our policies around parent leave. Our current policy: Our current policy is that ClearSlide will provide any employee requesting leave as a result of the birth or adoption of a child with 6 weeks of employee's base salary (in conjunction with any applicable short-term and/or long-term state and ClearSlide sponsored disability policies).

    Pros

    - Clear collaboration across all departments - the 'One Team, One Dream' mentality is real - The people we bring on are passionate about the company and its goals but are also genuinely supportive of the growth of each individual team member, too - If you put in hard work, in which ever role you are in, you are loved and acknowledged from your team on up to our CEO. When you win, everyone wins! - Great benefits including fitness subsidies, PTO, and health insurance - I love coming into the office knowing that I'll learn something new whether it is directly related to my role or helps me grow as a person. This is all possible because of the exceptionally bright team I get to be a part of each day

    Cons

    Each role has its pain points but what job doesn't? Utilize the ability to meet with your manager in your one-on-one's or visit our execs during office hours to express concerns about your role or if you have an idea or solution that could benefit the company, share it. A few too many people don't feel like they're being heard but maybe it's that they aren't making the moves to voice themselves

    Advice to Management

    Make time for your team. Keep up the promises you made to each person when they first came onboard or strive to maintain their excitement and passion that they came in with -- that's your gold right there.

    I applied online. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at ClearSlide.

    Interview

    Fairly routine. I received a response from the recruiter the day I submitted my resume online. He asked me some really routine questions but didn't seem to know much about the role. Kept saying I should ask my questions to hiring manager. Had a phone call with the hiring manager and her questions indicated that I was absolutely not a match to the role she was expecting to fill. I wish some of these attributes would have been more clearly communicated in the job description or screened during the recruiter call-- it would have saved everyone time. She also indicated she had filled positions that are currently being advertised on a number of job boards, including Glassdoor and LinkedIn, which seems like more waste of people's time who may be applying to those jobs. There are about 5-6 jobs in the marketing team shown as open on their website when in fact 3 of them are already filled. Got a robot email letting me know I wasn't being passed on to the next steps which was considerate but felt pretty empty. The marketing team is growing fast so it seems like there are a lot of dropped balls. During the interview I learned that there was a new leader to the Marketing org and there was a lot of "turnover" so be forewarned that they are in the process of rebuilding that team. Disappointed in the experience.
