Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop. Inspired by a baseball glove, its distinctive markings and how supple the leather became with use, the founder created Coach’s first bag.
In a Manhattan loft, six artisans handcrafted a collection of high-quality leather goods using skills handed down from generation to generation. Discerning consumers soon began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship.
Our business is founded on the concept of a single consumer, a single product, and a single sale or transaction.
Over the last decade, we have built Coach into a leading international accessories company with a loyal and highly engaged consumer franchise.
Construction of Coach’s new global headquarters—a 51-story LEED Gold designed tower just south of our current New York City corporate offices—is well underway at Hudson Yards, the next great New York neighborhood, with Coach occupancy scheduled for early 2016.
