    I worked at Coles Group

    Pros

Work environment has been significantly improved since Ian McLeod came on board - more open and friendly atmosphere, supportive teams, good leadership.

    Cons

Insufficient parking allocations, poor catering, new open plan seating arrangements a little too cramped in some departments and very male-dominated environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more opportunities for lower level staff to participate in decision-making activities in order to get more involved in the business.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at Coles Group in February 2015.

    Interview Details

Applied for expression of interest for casual/part time work at coles. On a Thursday I received an email saying that a position had become available which I soon applied for. Later that day I received a phone call asking me to come in for an interview at 8am on the Friday! It was a group interview with about 10 other applicants.

First we had to introduce ourselves and why we applied for coles. Then we were split into two groups and had to do activities like ways to improve customer service. Then individually we had to pick an item from the fresh food department and describe it, name ways for it to be made and other things that can be served with it.
After this we filled out an application form with availability and personal details and handed in photocopies of our I.D.

At about midday on the Friday, I received a call informing me that I had been successful and that there would be an induction the next week.
