I have been working at Communication Service for the Deaf full-time

    Pros

CSD is a great place to work! They truly care for our employees, and we do a lot of things for the community. I have never worked for a company that does so much to help the community. For it to be a non profit company they also do way more for the employees than most larger for profit places.

    Cons

The scheduling could be better, having it change every month is not good. It makes it hard to make plans ahead of time.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Communication Service for the Deaf (Syracuse, NY) in February 2015.

    Interview

Saw ad and sent resume through job site, I was emailed a day later asking to reply with the times available to call. Another day passed and I get a call and discussed the job position, wages, hours, and was told that I'd have to come in and take an assessment. In this assessment I had to listen to a clip and repeat what I heard with each clip speeding with increasing duration, take a 20 word vocabulary test, listen to a 3 minute clip and type what I heard using a foot pedal to pause when I needed. Next, came the interview.
