    I have been working at Conn-Selmer full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Music Industry, great employees, great customers, great brands and products that positively impact childern's learning and development experience.

    Cons

    "Small" industry, very limited manufacturing in USA left, ledership focused primarily on cost reductions to sell products at lower price. Lack of disciplined use of Strategic Plan to make day-to-day decisions; too many "start and not finished" initiatives.... confused this lack of focus with "poor execution by employees" and consequently high employee turn-over result.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Re-engineer sales and marketing processes; sell brand value, not only low price.

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days - interviewed at Conn-Selmer.

    Interview Details

    Phone interview followed by an in person interview at the corporate office. 6 half hour interviews with various people and executives. Interviews with CEO, CFO, Customer service Manager, Marketing Manager, etc. One day process, travel to office, interview, travel home.
