I worked at ConocoPhillips full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company has wonderful compensation, benefits, training and career opportunities. It prides itself on operating safely and that really helps the bottom line. It is also a nice environment to work in.

    Cons

Majority of the opportunities in the Finance function are in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. That is not a very attractive area in regards to obtaining young talent, as it is a retirement community. Also, please just be very mindful of who you select to be in management. Some people, no matter how good they maybe as individual contributors, are just not suited to be supervisors, directors, or even managers in some cases.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The benefits and compensation are great. Please just be very mindful of who you select to be in management. Some people, no matter how good they maybe as individual contributors, are just not suited to be supervisors, directors, or even managers in some cases. They are selfish and don't always have the ideals and goals of adding value to the ConocoPhillips brand. This also will run off many talented people.
