Consumers has a great emphasis on work/life balance while creating a competitive salary incentive. As a forestry intern, my hours are flexible which is nice while also taking classes at Michigan State.

I see how it can be hard to move up in the forestry division at consumers. The intern program pays well, but I don't see it paying better as a career.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6+ weeksinterviewed at Consumers Energy.

Predictable, no real surprises experienced. A lot of people apply for open positions. Be sure to check every possible qualification on the online application. Often candidates names don't even make it to the hiring managers desk due to the computer screening the apps. for specific qualifications. Check even the basic ones, word, excel, power point, etc..
