I have been working at Cooper Carry Inc. full-time (less than a year)

I'm not sure what went on previously, but things seem to be improving from what I've researched before I came here. It seems to me that they are aware of their need for diversity in upper management. They've taken on new people and they try to train some of the younger employees for that track. They want to hire people of good quality and do what they can to retain them.

    - The employee benefits are pretty great considering
    - Paid overtime
    - CEU classes and lectures
    - Office socialization events
    - Actively taking part in the redevelopment of a rapidly growing affordable city
    - Investing in interns

If you take initiative, you can advance. If you want to work a standard 8-5, you can. If you want to push and work over, you can as well. It's really what you make of it. It's a great place to start in the profession and it's a good place to be working while supporting your family.

They do kind of do the "tried and true" method of design. However, a lot of clients want that and they want to maintain their budget also, so what are you going to do?

There's a comment previously about some employees staying on longer than they should and I've found that that's pretty true.

If there was another economic downturn, I think they would cut some people.

Keep making efforts to hire people of good quality and retain them.

    Interview Details

There was an initial phone call, then an interview with 2 of the Principals. After I made it through that phase, I was called in for a second interview with my actual boss. We met for 2 hours, then I was asked to send in additional work samples for him to look at.
