Crown Castle – Why Work For Us?

The Foundation for a Wireless World.

Founded in 1994, Crown Castle provides wireless carriers with the infrastructure they need to keep people connected and businesses running. With approximately 40,000 towers and 14,000 small cell nodes supported by approximately 7,000 miles of fiber, Crown Castle is the nation’s largest provider of shared wireless infrastructure with a significant presence in the top 100 US markets.

Be a part of something essential.

When you work for Crown Castle, you’re not joining a tower company; you’re helping to enable the wireless services that we all rely on to live our lives to the fullest, every day. As a member of our team, you’ll work in an environment that’s open and transparent, where you’re encouraged to speak your mind and bring all your ideas to the table. The world today is wireless, and it rests on the foundation we’re building. Crown Castle team members understand this essential nature of our work and take full responsibility for their part in it. If you’re up for the challenge, we want to talk to you.

At Crown Castle, we believe that happy and healthy employees make better members of the team. That’s why we offer a total benefits package that seeks to enhance all aspects of our employees’ well being. Of course income is important, but so is proper access to healthcare, personal time off, and security for the future. We offer competitive salaries; annual incentive bonuses; a 401(k) matching program; health, life, and disability insurance; generous personal paid time off; tuition reimbursement; and relocation assistance.

Our commitment to diversity.

At Crown Castle, we are committed to conducting our business with the highest standards and integrity. It’s part of our guiding principles and the basis on which we interact with our customers, suppliers, shareholders, and fellow employees.

To make a positive difference in the communities where we serve, we work hard to ensure our own foundation is continually strengthened. That’s why diversity is such a key component of our business. We believe it gives us a competitive advantage in the marketplace, and is essential to the strength of our business.

Relatively small but quickly growing company. Very agile and responsive to changes in the market; able to be and frequently is proactive.

Mainly, this company actually cares about their employees beyond the usual - the culture is very health-positive. Gym memberships are encouraged and at my location is included as a benefit; other locations have reimbursement options.

Health plans benefits are above the norm, and some of the plan options are relatively new to the health insurance market.

    Compensation is fair and performance-based.

Accountability at all levels is not only encouraged, but required, both as part of the every day culture internally as well as externally to the customer and to fellow employees. All levels of management are held to the B3 virtues.

CEO is available and easy to communicate with, no matter what level of employee you are.

Again, I can't stress how much the management cares about its employees. I consider not only my immediate supervisors as friends, but I am confident in the fact that I can do the same with their superiors as well.

Crown Castle has been a breath of fresh air for me and so long as the company remains how it is into the future, I am not going anywhere. I'm 28 and if things stay good, I can easily see myself retiring form Crown Castle.

Working in the office at corporate, the only downside I've experienced comes from the ongoing construction projects around the campus, but this is temporary. I only wish I lived a bit closer; the commute takes me across and outside of the Pittsburgh area, but this is a minor inconvenience compared to how much better it's been to work for Crown than my previous employer.

    Advice to Management

Please, please, please, above all else, continue to display the level of understanding and compassion that I have been more than happy to be met with thus far within my first year of employment with Crown Castle. With the right amount of work and personal investment, one can make large salaries in the technology field easily enough; it is difficult, however, to find a company even of this size that is as caring and personally invested in its own employees as Crown is. Maintain this and the sky is the limit for the entire operation!

I applied online. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Crown Castle.

Spoke with recruiter over phone who seemed very interested in me. Scheduled me for an in-person interview in the local office. Face to face interview was terrible. I happened to have interviewed for the same position, but different office months prior. The woman who had interviewed me that first time sat in on this interview, which was being performed by another woman. All the questions were the same... Tell me a time when... Except they all seemed to relate to management when the position being filled is not a management position. Maybe Crown thinks this is the best way to interview. But the woman came unprepared and was reading questions off her lap top like it was the first time she had ever seen them. The whole experience was a joke and I was happy to leave. And I don't have much respect for a company who does the temp to perm hiring for positions so they can "try" people out.
