Awesome news! CustomInk was named a top workplace for millennials. Congratulations to my fellow Inkers! #BestWorkplaces http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIKQ1
Knowledgeable, fun-loving people delivering WOW! experiences — that's what we're all about at CustomInk. We're among friends here, and we're challenged to innovate and take ownership over our work while being creative in our jobs and focusing our attention on making our customers happy. At the end of the day, we're like a family — and that's important.
We love coming to work and it shows through the variety of awards we've won over the years including 100 Best Companies to Work For by Fortune, CEO of the Year by the Washington Business Journal, and Best Medium Workplaces by the Great Place to Work Institute. We've also been acknowledged by many local insitutes as a great place to work, just check out our awards page and see for yourself!
CustomInk cares – about our customers, our team members, our community, and our environment. It's no coincidence that our mascot, Inky, is an octopus. While everyone knows an octopus has eight arms, you might not be aware that every octopus also has three hearts. Think of all the love we can spread!
We are proud of the big hearts and generous spirits of our team members (“Inkers”). Most of our charitable programs first started with an Inker seeing someone in need and deciding, “I’m going to do something to help.” Garnering the support of the company and their fellow team mates along the way, Inkers have initiated countless charitable efforts – from "giving trees" for kids in need to coat drives for the homeless and bake sales for medical research. There's even a CustomInk Movember team that raises money for men's health issues. On any given day, you can find Inkers doing good and giving back to show their support for worthy causes.
It’s a high bar – and an example for the company itself to follow. That’s why CustomInk encourages community service by providing ample paid leave for volunteering, and by making donations to support Inkers’ charitable activities. We do these things, and more, because we’re committed to doing the right thing for our customers, our Inkers and our community – and because it makes us happy.
The office space itself is motivating and inspirational for our creative line of work. Not only is each office designed to encourage movement and collaboration between teams, but Inker personalities and creativity are evident throughout personal workspaces.
You'll enjoy lots of stuff: free healthy snacks, a catered lunch on Thursdays, a casual dress code, happy hours, town-hall meetings, spontaneous brainstorming sessions, an annual Inkademy Awards night honoring the team members whose acts best demonstrate our core values, and so much more. Here's just a taste:
- Competitive compensation and benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage at a nominal cost
- Generous personal leave + holidays, parental, military, and other leave
- 401(k) Retirement with company match
- Group life and AD&D insurance at no cost
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Lead Well and Live Well programs available to all employees
Are you friendly and highly motivated? Want to have an impact through the work that you do? Do you consider yourself a certified lover of custom t-shirts?
We need Inkers:
- to serve on the "front lines" of winning and satisfying customers by directly assisting them with their orders, preparing and improving artwork for orders, and coordinating the entire process from design to delivery
- to innovate in our large-scale Ruby environment developing high-volume customer facing applications
- to keep everything going, from finance to marketing to our product offering and more
Most of all, we need team players who share our commitment to customer satisfaction and will learn quickly in our fun, intense, and results-oriented environment

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at CustomInk (Arlington, VA) in July 2015.
I had a phone interview which lasted about 30 minutes. I was asked very generic questions. The job would be part time and remote, but by "part time", the hours would range between 10-40. The questions were very generic and did not pertain to my ability to perform the job.

CustomInk knows a T-shirt is not just a T-shirt. (It can also be an advertisement, a form of self-expression, or a fashion statement.) The firm provides screen printing and embroidery services for customers across the US through its online storefront. Customers pick the clothing type (short and long sleeve Ts, tank tops, sweats) and color, and then add text and graphics (picking from available graphics or designing their own). CustomInk team members -- or Inkers, as they call themselves -- then print and ship orders. The firm also offers about 200 other customized products ...
