I worked at Cytec full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great business Wonderful Customers such as Boeing just to name one of the largest,Carbon Fiber in demand and a Great Future.

    Cons

Old power trip management Large 401k stock holders that don't want to let go of power. Hourly Workers managed by fear tactics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great Corporate HR that's been more than kind to old School inefficient management. Most old School management came from hourly floor Jobs and talk daily about how they wish they had never went salary. Most inefficient but honest and will tell you one on one Curve is a Joke, most don't believe in what they are trying to sell you.

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months - interviewed at Cytec.

    Interview Details

Applied for the position directly via their web site and heard nothing. 6 months later, I was called by a recruiter for the same position and did a phone interview screen. My first in-person interview did not include anyone from HR but did include 3 other relevant interviewers who were relevant. In the second round of interviews, I met the HR business partner for my area and he had zero soft-side skills. This was a red flag for an HR guy in this type of area.
