I worked at DC DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A position with the Department of Human Services with the District Government offers excellent job security and plenty of opportunities for professional training. the work conducted by the department is extremely rewarding (with respect to client services) at times, and an employee will gain many transferable skills working there.

    Cons

There is little supervision of any substance. Workers are not rewarded based on contribution or skill. Management lacks the skills to design a system that functions efficiency and effectively, and very little consideration is paid to those that can offer viable solutions to industry problems.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
