I have been working at DOE Joint Genome Institute part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Top notch equipment and great staff. The location is good as it is right on the Iron Horse trail (perfect for biking), and fairly close to BART. The ergonomics team will do whatever they have to do to make sure that you are in a comfortable work environment.

    Cons

Work can be a bit monotone, and it seems fairly difficult for current employees to advance their positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The work atmosphere can be very lax at times, so I would advice management to be more engaging.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at DOE Joint Genome Institute in May 2014.

    Interview Details

Went through DOE HR people via email - took a phone interview later that week, and to my consternation 2:30 means 5:30 EST, so that left me with some extra prep time to review their site and my credentials
