I worked at Daikin North America full-time (more than 3 years)RecommendsPositive OutlookRecommendsPositive Outlook
There is definitely a lot of room for growth for Daikin America. Managers provide a lot of opportunity for personal and professional growth. The product line is interesting, and the industries that Daikin serves are varied - making the work interesting and varied. Company takes training seriously,
A slightly less tech-savvy population made it challenging to use information technology to our best advantage. Also, Daikin uses Lotus Notes for their email client - which was a little frustrating at times. Some teams are small, so although there is long term job stability and potential, short term prospects seem less exciting. There is also a reluctance to hire people, which led to some overwork and stress.
Advice to Management
Invest in better information technology. Be more willing to hire people.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceAverage InterviewAccepted OfferPositive ExperienceAverage Interview
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3+ months – interviewed at Daikin North America (Decatur, AL).
Phone interview with hiring manager, then wait a month and do an in person panel interview with peers and then management, then wait another month and do a second interview with the plant manager, another panel interview with your peers, and another panel interview with managers. If you make it to the second round of panel interviews you are hired unless you just totally screw up somehow.
- Not really any curve balls. you have been pretty well vetted by the time you get to the panel interviews and they basically just ask for you to run through your resume and then ask about your priorities (Safety first) Answer Question
They offered a dollar amount and it was a good offer but there benefits are the real prize at the company $5/month family insurance. They would not budge on the offer at all even though my former company matched the pay.
