I worked at Dairy Farmers of America as an intern (less than a year)RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEORecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEO
As an intern, I was given a lot of responsibility. I was able to work directly with national-level brands and participate in conferences and negotiations. Some travel, depending on the internship program. Interns are recruited in a big group and all live in one central location, so you're able to interact and make friends with others from different schools who share your interests. Offered a few field trips and workshops; overall really fun and I learned a lot.
Not many interns are given full-time employment opportunities.
Advice to Management
Consider opening internship opportunities for positions you would be looking to hire full-time the following fall; you'll get more dedication from your participants and it gives you the opportunity to essentially conduct a really long trial/interview period with a potential candidate.

Fun people to talk to, informative about the Cooperative. Not all management was clear on the duties of the position. Interview process is long and exhausting. Shows that they possibly cannot make decisions in a quick manner.

It also offers contract manufacturing services. The co-op owns 20-plus...
