    I have been working at DataLab USA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Hiring process was very quick and easy. In only 3 days after I applied I had a phone interview, then was called for an in-person interview, where I met a great team of professionals: the HR manager, the COO and 2 other managers. I got a great offer in less than a week, I accepted it and haven't been happier since. I've learned a lot for the past year and after only 3 months of hard work I got rewarded with a considerable raise. Everyone here is very helpful and understanding. This is a very friendly and family oriented environment. Since I started my family and I have attended a number of great company picnics and activities. Great location, with lots of lunch options around and not much traffic.

    I applied online – interviewed at DataLab USA.

    Interview Details

    The HR representative was easygoing, laidback and easy to talk to. She wanted me to speak with senior staff and so I waited 20 minutes for them to finish their meeting. As I was speaking with the senior staff members one on one, the first guy was chilled and laidback. I then spoke with the HR rep again together with one of the CEO's. The SQL test was quite intense - and they will act as though the test is not hard. The HR rep mentioned that even with a '1' (making a facial expression signaling that that was bad) they still 'managed to hire this person' - I ended up getting a 1 (awkward), and the CEO mentioned "You should take a course on SQL" - when I have already taken two courses on this.

    Then came the third senior staff - who was really grumpy. After he had just started speaking to me, the CEO invaded the conversation and mentioned that he needed to attend the next meeting. This set the mood for the entire rest of the interview - he was frustrated. This created a terrible impression for me. Afterwards, I received an apologetic e-mail stating that if I am still interested in working with them, she would gladly provide the company's manual to help me learn SQL. I did not reply.

    Interview Questions
    • The SQL test was extremely difficult for an entry-level student. They seem to be lenient as long as you demonstrate that you are willing to learn. The levels of this test will decide your candidacy for entry-level all the way up to senior-level.   Answer Question
