Bringing Science to the Art of Marketing
DataXu was founded by MIT aeronautics and astronautics scientists who wrote the combinatorial language that guided NASA’s Mars mission plans. These scientists – joined by co-founders with extensive digital media and consumer electronics expertise – examined potential commercial applications that would benefit from a system that could make real-time decisions. They knew that a huge opportunity existed in marketing, being disrupted by the consumer digital lifestyle and big data, but still operating with manual solutions based on intuition, as well as an inefficient supply chain.

For DataXu, Caring Is More than a Responsibility
DataXu is dedicated to social responsibility and supporting local philanthropic initiatives. As high-tech entrepreneurs, we’re always in a hurry to discover the Next Big Thing. But giving back to the communities where we work is also a very important thread in our DNA. Xu Keepers support scores of local charities with donations and their volunteer time—including Charles River Conservancy, Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayons, Pets are Worth Saving (PAWS)/Chicago, and many more.
This idea was inspired by research into the most innovative companies. The key unifying theme between the most innovative companies is that each of them finds a way for employees to do some self-driven creative work, even if there is less than 100% chance of success. Employees may work on their own on teams. Teams are comprised of people who don't usually interact. If a member of the sales team wants to work with a developer on a new idea that's awesome. I have been working at DataXu full-time (More than a year)
Perks: free lunches once a week, fully stocked kitchens, accessibility to senior management, VERY smart people. Strategy is a strong point for DataXu. Every decision made is very well thought out...and they aren't made in a vacuum. It's hard to find that. Compensation is in the norm for the industry. Benefits are great. Along with other things, they offer unlimited PTO and they cover the yearly deductible for medical and dental (in addition to 85% of the plan costs)
It's a fast growing company - things change and they change often. You have to be comfortable with that.

I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at DataXu in April 2015.
Gave me a couple of java assignment questions which were mainly on Multi-threading and asked me to work on it for 2 days and then submit it. But after submitting the recruiter told that they won't be able to sponsor H1B visas. It is an absolute waste of time interviewing with this company.
