I have been working at Dazbog part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, you may work with some cool people. Store discount, and free shift drinks.

    Cons

If you work for a corporate store they require a minimum one year of industry experience, but pay minimum wage. Shift leads get only one dollar more than minimum wage. The products and machines they use are subpar, not quality coffee. Instead of focussing on quality service and drinks, they time you on how quickly you greet customers and make drinks, getting as many people in and out as fast as possible. And 'up sell' is a phrase you'll hear about a hundred times a day. I could go on about the laundry list of minute things they freak out over, but I'll spare you. Also, it's clear the owners have very little respect for their employees, they only knew the neme of the store manager...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that if you want excellent baristas who are willing to out up with the bs culture of corporate 'coffee', you at leaste have to pay them well for it. Instead of blaming the staff for complaints, improve the quality of your product and experience.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Dazbog in June 2013.

    Interview Details

Saw a job posting online through Craigslist and decided to apply. I then received an email with general questions, as they had received so many applicants they wanted to know our favorite books, movies, tv shows, hobbies, etc. Thought it was kind of odd but interesting ,so I wrote back. Received an email the next day asking me to come in for an interview.
Had the interview with the franchise owner and manager-both very nice people and very relaxed. Was asked about my coffee experience (I had about a year, but it was 7 years ago) and my customer service experience. Typical interview. After, the manager said 'wow, that was great! What a great interview" and thought for sure I was in. Said they would call me by Friday to let me know either yes or no (I interviewed on Monday) Never received any call.
