    I have been working at DeNA full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Beautiful location, catered meals, excellent HR staff
    Teammates friendly smart and interesting
    Flexible hours depending on project
    Results-oriented
    Unreasonable goals

    Cons

    Unclear path to profitability.
    Lots of "gatcha" mechanics in Western games; tendency to infuse games with Asian mechanics
    Hi Burn Rate- Benefits, perks, # of execs, # of projects that don't make money
    Efficiency does not seem to be a priority; often lots of interruptions and noise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Prefer ad-hoc one on ones with senior level staff and jr staff alike, from all departments, rather than top-down command and control meetings where we preach values.
    Ie, give people a chance to "speak-up" by creating opportunities to "listen down"

    This was a phone screen and take-home question. I solved the question, but declined to go further. I think these sorts of code puzzles are stupid. (Apparently there is a 30-word minimum for this box. I'm just typing this now to hit the silly, arbitrary minimum.)

    • There are 60 people in a restaurant at Narita International Airport. Of these, 42 are Japanese, 46 are male and 15 are children.

      - Among the Japanese males, there are 4 children.
      - Among Japanese females, there are 8 adults.
      - There are only 3 non-Japanese females and all of them are children.
