I worked at Deaconess Hospital full-time (more than 3 years)

Work alongside other healthcare professionals and get to interact with patients daily. Decent work/life balance the longer you work here. Get to work with little or no supervision and are expected to be competent enough to perform your position. Tuition reimbursement programs.

Do not expect go get praise for going above and beyond your position. Operates with a no news is good news mentality from upper management. They are VERY strict with operating within scope of practice which is understandable in a healthcare setting but not for someone who wants to move forward. Opportunities for advancement are not advertised very well nor information available for how to even do so. Upper management gets irritated if you inquire on how to move forward/pick up further certifications and see it as a distraction away from your position. If you want to move forward in healthcare, you have to do it on your own time but they do help with college costs.
