I have been working at Department of Energy & Climate Change full-time (less than a year)Pros
Excellent development, both analytic and personal.
Fantastic work life balance.
Lots of direction from the Chief Economist.
Quality of the analytical work in the department is excellent which you can learn a lot from.
The department is very commercially focused and you can therefore larn a lot of commercial/technical skills to take elsewhere.
Always the opportunity to take complex projects forward and lead teams of policy professionals.Cons
Some roles can be slow because of the nature of the role. ie working on a project that comes online in 40 years means the work going on today can be slower than usual.Advice to ManagementAdvice
