- Alcohol in society - we want to contribute to the World Health Organization's goal of reducing alcohol-related harm by 10% by communicating about alcohol responsibly and tackling misuse through effective programmes and policies
- Water and the environment - we want to protect the precious commodity of water through reducing, returning and, where appropriate, replenishing what we use while investing in, and advocating, water stewardship in our communities. With our current targets expiring in 2015, and in anticipation of the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference and other external factors, we evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of our strategy in light of our track record of performance and the work we have done over the last few years in understanding the expectations and concerns of our stakeholders.
As a result, in December 2014, we launched ambitious targets for 2020 for our most material issues, which build on our achievements to date, and are aligned with the emerging UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Plenty of career development opportunities if you are globally mobile. Good working environment and high level of respect for the individual. Reasonable reward packages. Longer term employees pre 2005 have had the benefit of one of the best final salary pension schemes in the UK.
Company has been struggling to grow sales in the past two years and competition have made more progress than Diageo. Company has difficulty recruiting recently as not offering competitive reward packages any more. Many people are struggling with new company structure and not sure comapny have got this right so some frustration at present.
Advice to Management
Communicate a more realistic and balanced internal message re company performance. Be more realistic in reward packages for new employees otherwise quality will suffer in the long term.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Diageo (Boca Raton, FL) in August 2015.
The interview process was very organized. For me, It began with a phone interview that outlined the job expectations and more about the company. The first time, it was more about describing what you'd be getting into (I had an employee who sent them a reference letter but I think there are usually two phone interviews). The next interview (face to face) was very professionally friendly, like a meet and greet. They asked questions that were specific to the job and it was like open conversation format. I had been used to interviewing as more of a question and answer process, but this was better and I regret not speaking more about myself and leading the conversation (where it's usually the other way around). Depending on the position, I had 6 people interviewing me, and I was SO nervous but they made me feel really good about myself and comfortable. Even though I didn't get the job, I have no hostility towards them or the company(s) because of how real and nice everyone was. Everything happens for a reason!
- The usual "Tell us about yourself" "Why would you be a good fit for this position" "What motivates you to overcome challenges" A lot of it was just them describing certain things you'd have to do on the job and then following up with "So, how do you feel about that" To prepare, I suggest reading the job's duties and making sure you have something to say about each point how you can accomplish or fulfill it.
