I have been working at Discount Tire Company part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Discount Tire pays really well, though you do work hard for your money. I've worked at 3 different locations in 2 different states and I have thoroughly enjoyed each store. The guys you work with are (for the most part) dedicated, hardworking guys that care about what they do. This job keeps you active and in shape since you're constantly working with heavy objects. Discount Tire also is extremely flexible with working around the employees' schedules. I'm a full time student and I can schedule my hours around my class schedule, and asking for time off is very easy. I've met some of my best friends working at Discount Tire, it really is a great place to work.

    Cons

There's not much I would complain about. Sometimes it sucks when the cars pile up and and you have to work really hard and really fast. Occasionally some managers can be very strict about things, but that comes with working any kind of job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe train guys to accept more store responsibilities and give them more opportunities to do higher up work like sales and stock. MID 19 does a fantastic job with this, most techs are cross-trained on different tasks and given responsibilities.
