Advertising is a fun industry to work in, and ad agencies are a fun group of businesses to work with. As a remote employee, you have some freedom to run your area as you see fit which is appealing.
Management is at odds with each other and there is no clear cut directive from the home office to sales people in the field. They tried to grow the business too quickly and it is now coming back to hurt them and their capital operations. Commissions got cut twice while I was there to the point of not being able to make ends meat. I think they used to be a great, forward thinking company, but they have gone downhill in the slumping economy. All of this is evidenced by the fact that they have had multiple layoffs over the past six months and are now down to a skeleton crew.
Advice to Management
Try to get along with each other and get on the same page. The in-fighting has to stop in order for the company to grow and have ONE objective.
