I have been working at Dominion Resources

    Pros

Working for Dominion in the nuclear industry has been beneficial in so many ways. The standards and expectations were at a level I had never experienced before. Dominion gave me comprehensive training to meet the high level of standards that are so critical throughout the nuclear industry. That training has given me a new perspective in my attention to detail while developing high quality preventative maintenance procedures. These procedures are then used by technicians as a critical tool to safely and effectively complete their preventative maintenance work assignments.

    Cons

Standards and expectations set a very high level, bring a certain amount of stress to the work place. However, if that stress is channeled properly it will elevate a person's performance that is beneficial to both the employer and the employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dominion has struck a good balance of being a successful electrical power corporation while treating their employees fairly. Dominion continues to strive for excellence in all aspects of their business model. My only advice would be to continue to review their policies, and consider successful programs other companies have in place.

I applied through a recruiter – interviewed at Dominion Resources.

    Interview Details

Drove an hour for a one-question interview with a panel of three people. One didn't even bother to make eye contact with me at any point, including when I shook his hand. Unlike any other interview I've been on. Seemed unprepared to answer my questions about the company and said things that were directly opposite what the recruiter had told me. The process was very weird.
